There is nothing to setting up the Vial Tablet! Following the instructions below the tablet will be ready for us in just a couple minutes!
These instructions may not apply to the tablet in use if the tablet was provided prior to September 2024. Please reach out to your Vial Contact prior to setup if you are unsure!
Step 1: 6-tap Method
When you unbox the tablet and are ready to set it up, turn it on and make sure the tablet is charged. 🔋
Tap the Welcome screen 6 times in a row 👆🏼

Connect to your WiFi Network 📶
After connecting to the internet, you’ll see a white screen that says “This device belongs to your organization” (That’s us! 👋🏼) . Click Next on the bottom right corner
A few more screens will take you through some more of the setup, such as Google services and disclaimers. Please click Next through these screens without changing any settings, until you see a page “For your review”
You may agree to all the terms and conditions, but it is optional to agree to send diagnostic data to Samsung. ☑️
Give just a few minutes ⌛ for your tablet to prepare the device and load the Vial EDC app
Step 2: Using the Vial EDC App
Post Set Up, The Vial EDC app will be on the Home Screen of the Tablet
Remember the following when using the Vial EDC in Tablet Mode:
The first time you use the tablet to record a video 🎥 within the App, make sure you click allow when the pop up asks if platform.vial.com can access the tablet camera 📸 and microphone 🎤.
All data entered via the Tablet defaults to eSource. If you are transcribing data from a different data source DO NOT use the tablet. Instead, enter the data on a computer 💻.
